Brittany Murphy

Brittany Murphy, born Brittany Anne Bertolotti on November 10, 1977, in Atlanta, Georgia, was an American actress and singer. She moved to Los Angeles during her teenage years to pursue a career in acting. Murphy’s early success came with the role of Tai Frasier in the 1995 film Clueless, which opened doors for her in various independent films throughout the late 1990s.

She appeared in notable movies such as Freeway (1996), Bongwater (1998), Girl, Interrupted (1999), and Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999). In addition to her film work, Murphy made her stage debut in a Broadway production of Arthur Miller's A View from the Bridge in 1997. Known for her petite frame and brown hair and eyes, she carried a slim physique throughout her acting years.

Brittany’s career spanned from 1991 until 2009. She passed away on December 20, 2009, at the age of 32. The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office determined her death to be accidental, citing pneumonia as the cause, with contributing factors including severe iron-deficiency anemia and multiple drug intoxication. Her father, Andelo Bertolotti, was noted to have ties to the Italian Mafia.
