Kirsten Caroline Dunst, born on April 30, 1982, in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, is an American actress and musician with a career spanning over three decades. She began acting at a young age, making her film debut in Woody Allen's short segment "Oedipus Wrecks" from the anthology New York Stories (1989). Dunst first gained significant attention at 12 years old for her role as the vampire Claudia in Interview with the Vampire (1994), earning a Golden Globe nomination. That same year, she appeared in Little Women.

Her portrayal of Mary Jane Watson in the Spider-Man trilogy (2002–07) brought her international recognition. Following this, Dunst took on roles in a variety of films including Wimbledon (2004), Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004), and Elizabethtown (2005). She played the lead in Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette (2006) and starred in the comedy How to Lose Friends & Alienate People (2008). She was awarded Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival in 2011 for her performance in Lars von Trier’s Melancholia.

In addition to acting, Dunst has showcased her musical talents, singing in the film Get Over It (2001) and performing a jazz piece for the credits of The Cat’s Meow (2001). She is recognized for her long-standing presence in film and music, maintaining a career from 1988 to the present.
