Gisele Bundchen, known affectionately as Gise by family and close friends, was born on July 20, 1980, in Horizontina, a small town in the countryside of Rio Grande do Sul. She is the third of six daughters born to Vânia and Valdir. Growing up in a bustling household with many sisters, Gisele experienced a childhood filled with outdoor play, sports, and responsibilities, often helping with household chores alongside her siblings. The family’s life was marked by hard work, as both parents balanced jobs to support their large family.

One of Gisele’s cherished childhood places was her grandparents' farm, where she developed a strong bond with nature, helping with farm duties such as milking cows, collecting eggs, and feeding animals. This connection to the countryside and animals, especially horses, remains a significant part of her early life. Among her sisters, Gisele stood out for her adventurous spirit and fearlessness, embracing challenges with enthusiasm.

From a young age, Gisele engaged in various sports including ballet, gymnastics, track and field, and volleyball. Her height and dedication made her a notable presence on the volleyball court, where she was known for her focus and competitive nature. Despite her athleticism and commitment, her tall and slender stature sometimes drew unwanted attention during her teenage years, leading to teasing and challenges fitting in socially. Nevertheless, these experiences shaped her resilience and determination in both sports and life.
