Jelena Noura Hadid, widely known as Gigi Hadid, was born on April 23, 1995, in Los Angeles, California. Of mixed Middle Eastern heritage, she holds American, Dutch, and Palestinian nationalities. Gigi began her career in the entertainment industry as a child in 1997 and established herself as a model and influencer over the following decades.

Hadid is the daughter of Yolanda Hadid and Mohamed Hadid, with two younger siblings, Bella and Anwar, who are also models. She has two older paternal half-sisters from her father's previous marriage. Gigi entered the modeling scene prominently in 2014, when she appeared in the Top 50 Models ranking on Models.com. In 2016, the British Fashion Council recognized her as International Model of the Year. Her portfolio includes over 35 covers for international editions of Vogue, among other achievements.
