Christina Aguilera
Christina Aguilera, born on December 18, 1980, in Staten Island, New York, is an American singer and actress with Ecuadorian heritage. She first gained national attention as a contestant on the television show Star Search in 1990 and later appeared on Disney Channel’s The Mickey Mouse Club between 1993 and 1994. Aguilera’s early career progressed when she recorded "Reflection," the theme song for the 1998 animated film Mulan, which led to her signing with RCA Records.
Her debut album, released in 1999, marked a breakthrough with several number one hits on the Billboard Hot 100 including "Genie in a Bottle," "What a Girl Wants," and "Come On Over Baby (All I Want Is You)." Aguilera continued her musical journey with subsequent albums such as the Latin-pop project Mi Reflejo (2000) and the holiday-themed My Kind of Christmas (2000). Seeking greater artistic control, she parted ways with her management before releasing Stripped in 2002, an album that included the successful single "Beautiful" and showcased a new level of creative input from Aguilera.
Further evolving her sound, Aguilera’s 2006 album Back to Basics explored soul, jazz, and blues influences, receiving positive critical feedback. In 2010, she released Bionic, which featured elements of R&B, electropop, and synthpop, though it met with mixed reviews and less commercial success. Over the course of more than two decades in the entertainment industry, Aguilera has maintained a presence across music and acting, noted for her distinct voice and ongoing artistic development.
